Sweet Pea Winter Sunshine Light Blue

$10.00
Sold Out

Description:

  • A very early blooming variety that only requires 10-11 hours of sunlight per day to begin blooming in late-winter/early-spring. It’s a great option for Australian growers who want their Sweet Peas to bloom before the heat.

  • Large ruffled blooms in a soft lilac-blue colour.

  • Bred for cut flower production so plants are more vigorous & have longer stems than most other varieties.

Seed count: 10 seeds

Site: Full sun

Height: Up to 250cm (requires trellising)

Sowing method: Raise seedlings or direct sow in late summer-autumn. Extremely frost hardy.

Sowing depth: 2-3mm

Spacing: 15-20cm

Days to germination: 7-14 days (prefers cooler temps for germination)

Days to maturity: approx. 100-150 days depending on sowing date (Sweet Peas are daylight sensitive so the bloom date won’t be different between plants sown in Feb-April. There may be more foliage growth and a stronger root system on older plants but either way the plants will bloom when the daylight hours reach 10-11 per day).

Pinch: When there are 2-3 sets of true leaves.

Support: Grow up trellis

Stem length: bred for cut flower production so has great stem length of 30cm+.

Vase life: 4-5 days if harvested with two un-opened buds at the tip of the stem.

PLEASE NOTE: Sweet Pea seeds are poisonous. Please take care around children & animals

(These seeds were not grown on our farm. They were purchased wholesale and excess to our needs).
